Alterra is excited to announce the grand reopening of our Prospect Ave. café!  Earlier this year, we began construction on an expanded seating area and “outdoor room.”  The new space has been outfitted to offer a full food menu and brewed-by-the-cup coffee bar where customers can select from a handful of fresh roasted coffees brewed using a manual pourover.  Beginning Thursday, Sept. 23rd all of these perks (pun intended) will be available at 2211 N. Prospect Ave.

To celebrate the reopening of the café - as well as our sponsorship of the 2010 Milwaukee Film Festival - we’re throwing a huge party!  We invite the public to join us on Thursday, September 30th for free food, beer, wine, live music from Bahía, competitive coffee tasting, spoken word poetry and…coffee!

2:00 pm Milwaukee Cup Tasters Championship - Coffee lovers taste and identify the one odd cup out of a sample of three. Time and accuracy determine who claims the title as our city’s best taster.
5:00pm         Alterra presents “Waste Land” screening at The Oriental
7:00pm         Cup Tasters Championship Finals
8:00pm         Live Music with Bahía - blending Puerto Rican folk music, Afro-Cuban rhythms, South American, and Jazz sounds
9:30pm         Spoken Word Artists from the MKE film “Mark My Words”
